Indestructible Righteousness

“Thy righteousness is in heaven.” This phrase was impressed upon John Bunyan, who often struggled to believe that God's just condemnation was fully appeased by virtue of the work of Christ. He found joyous freedom in Christ, who has become unto us righteousness (1 Cor 1:30).

I received much help from hearing of this instance in Bunyan's life. But I wanted a verse which would closely correspond to Bunyan's impression. Last night Garrett pointed to Hebrews 9:24.

For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.

That helps me tremendously.
