Counsel from Morgan on Prayer

"There are wonderful stories of men in the ministry who have devoted hours to prayer, and of others of whom I have heard who spent whole nights in the actual exercise. I have a very great respect for men who do this, but the idea has never made the slightest appeal to me and I have never practiced it... I am certain that the secret of real spiritual power in the ministry is that of personal, maintained relationship with God. Whatever habits are necessary to the individual man [to maintain such a relationship] he should cultivate and observe. No person can lay down rules for another in this regard." - G. Campbell Morgan

Quoted in Walking with the Giants by Warren Wiersbe, 283.
