Quote from Powlison on Responsbility

Dealing with the human tendency to blame everything on our circumstances (Genesis 3:12-13), David Powlison brings us back to reality.

In most graphic terms, on the day of judgment God will ask, "What did you do?" He will not ask, '"What happened to you?" Taken from "Contemporary Issues In Biblical Counseling"

I don't know enough about Powlison's full scope of counseling to endorse what he may say elsewhere. But the truth being highlighted here is a good reminder. No circumstances, no matter how difficult and heart-breaking, are an excuse for not obeying God.
