But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. James 1:22
I noticed a trend among Christians that have made great progress in the Christian life. They apply every truth they hear to themselves. Whether the truth is big or small, or they've heard the truth a thousand times, they still turn the truth over in their mind and apply it to their life. I feel the need to be more this way. Needing a new truth (or an old truth in a new way) is a sign of great immaturity.
