The Psalmist's Knowledge

This I know, that God is for me. Psalm 56:9

The Psalmist has been recounting his acute trials. In the midst of the storm, he was stripped of all but one piece of knowledge - "God is for me." (cf Romans 8:31). But having that he received back everything.

The man who can say with conviction "God is for me" is absolutely indestructible. He no longer needs men's approval for stability. Nor do hard situations cause him to falter. His hope, peace, and stability transcend the realm of men deep into the heart of God. And there he rests all his days in "perfect peace" (Isaiah 26:3)
