Reality?

"I have found no guilt in this man." - Luke 23:14
"This man has done nothing wrong." - Luke 23:41

Both of these statements contain the same content. The latter statement was made by a man who went to Heaven. The former statement was made by a man, as far as we know, who went to Hell. Truth is easier taught than walked. A man can affirm things about the Person of Christ, but is there any reality? Yes, you affirm the sovereignty of God - but do you worry? Yes, you affirm the mountain-moving power of prayer - but how much are you before that Throne? You affirm the supremacy of Christ - has His glory consumed your desires? The reality of a profession is vindicated by actions.

"...but he delivered Jesus to their will."
Pilate proclaimed the innocence of Christ before others then surrendered Christ for the fear of man.

"...Do you not even fear God?...Jesus, remember me..."
The Thief proclaimed the innocence of Christ before others then surrendered himself in the fear of God.

So here is a challenge - write a doctrinal statement based solely on your actions within the past week. Has your theology permeated your life?
